Occupational Therapy

Occupational Therapy ServicesPCDA offers occupational therapy services for young children, typically birth to eight years. Our therapy services take a developmental approach to address areas of sensory processing and modulation, fine motor development, handwriting skills, gross motor development, visual motor skills, and self-help skills.

We offer services in our clinic setting that is designed with therapeutic equipment to best meet younger children's needs. Therapy is also provided in children's homes and schools sites. Parents are an integral part of all treatment sessions. We provide developmental assessments, occupational therapy assessments, and clinic-based treatment sessions.

Sensory Integration evaluation and treatment are provided at our clinic. Evaluation may include the Sensory Integration and Praxis Tests (SIPT), non-standardized clinical observations, and interviews with parents and teachers. The SIPT is a battery of standardized tests that can be administered to some children ages 4 to 8 years, 11 months. The SIPT assesses motor-free visual perception, perception of touch, muscle and joint sensations, motor planning, and balance and movement skills that require sensory integration.

The therapists have communicated so well and took the time to understand our specific issues. Both our children started with huge developmental delays and are now almost on track. I feel PCDA helped me overcome many anxieties about helping my children with special needs."
