About

PCDA’s mission is to create a community that builds on strengths and relationships to prepare young people with Autism and developmental disabilities for a future in which they are empowered, fulfilled, and feel the security of belonging.

Meet PCDA

The PCDA team works together to create collaborative, multi-disciplinary and integrated care for families.

We do this because we know that the challenges our clients face are complex and best addressed by the combined expertise of our team.

Our Values

Break Barriers to Care

Inclusion, and the opportunity, dignity, and independence that follow, starts here. We strive to support all families in a community where everyone feels included, respected, and safe to be their authentic self.

See the Big Picture

We address immediate needs while never losing sight of the long-game. We invite people to join us as their truest selves, without attempting to quiet their emotions, change who they are, or force expected behaviors upon them.

Build the Village

As a community, we rely on teamwork and collaboration, because we know we can go further when we go together. Together, our village sets a child or young person on a path toward a fulfilling and meaningful life.

Live Fully

We passionately engage in our work because we believe in our clients’ right and ability to live fully as their authentic selves. We believe in that same quality of life for our team. We treat all people—clients, families, staff, neighbors, partners—with dignity and respect.

Excel in All Ways

We never settle for anything less than our very best for our clients. We are thorough practitioners and professionals who approach our work holistically—with knowledge, training, hands-on experience, empathy, and creativity.

Our Impact

Every family and every child is different, and every family deserves to have their essential needs met. To make a meaningful impact, care must be personal, intentional, and built upon strengths and connections. By getting to know each family and understanding their needs, PCDA creates a safe place to learn and grow for over 500 greater LA County families. Connected to each other and as part of their child’s care, families find their own emotional center.

WHO WE SERVE

1 in 44 families include an autistic child, and 1 in 6 have a child with a developmental disability that requires intervention. Even with these high numbers, the choices for care for these families and young people can be limiting, overwhelming, and fragmented.

PCDA takes the weight off families to sort through the complex options and unique challenges that come with supporting a child with a developmental difference. PCDA gets to know each child and family and provides the best proven services for each client.

“I’m so fortunate to be part of hearing a child’s voice when they speak their first words.”
